About Chapter

The Heart of Wisconsin Chapter is a chapter of one of the largest professional organizations in the U.S., the IMA, devoted solely to management accounting. However, the chapter's members' background and experience is not limited to just management accounting. Our chapter has members with background and experience in public accounting, law, management information services, and many other professional areas.

The Story of the Heart of Wisconsin Chapter:  At its meeting in Houston, Texas on June 18, 1983, the Board of Directors of the National Association of Accountants (now known as the Institute of Management Accountants), received a formal request from the 70 members and applicants for membership.  RESOLVED, that a charter be granted effective June 1, 1983 to the Heart of Wisconsin Chapter.

The area to be served consists of Clark, Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Oneida, Portage, Price, Taylor and Wood Counties, plus the northern half of Adams, Juneau, and Waushara Counties and the western two-thirds of Shawano County. Major population centers in the area include Antigo, Marshfield, Merrill, Rhinelander, Stevens Point, Wausau, and Wisconsin Rapids.

The Heart of Wisconsin Chapter provides its members with great continuing professional education opportunities through monthly dinner meetings, typically held the third Tuesday of each month, that include guest speakers presenting on various interesting topics. The monthly dinner meetings present a friendly atmosphere for members and prospective members to meet each other and to participate in interesting topic discussions.

The Heart of Wisconsin Chapter also provides its members with great networking opportunities. The Chapter currently has over 90 members, employed in a large variety of industries, which provides each member an enormous number of professional contacts.

We encourage you to check out the rest of the Heart of Wisconsin Chapter Website to learn more about what the chapter has to offer its members. We also encourage you to come to our next dinner meeting to see in person what our chapter is all about.

We look forward to meeting you.
